Legends of Tomorrow release date: What to expect?

DC's Legends of Tomorrow CW

CW's "Legends of Tomorrow," a spinoff to "The Flash" and "Arrow," will be coming in 2016 and DC fans will surely have a lot of adventures and actions to expect from the show.

The show's new executive producer Phil Klemmer also revealed to Entertainment Weekly at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) last Saturday that the show will have a two-hour premiere.

It will debut in midseason and the episode count for the first season could be anywhere between eight and 12, as reported in Bustle.

The story is based on a crossover of "Arrow" and "The Flash" and it also features new superheroes and villains.

At the recently concluded SDCC, it was also revealed by executive producer Marc Guggenheim that the upcoming brand new season of "Arrow" and the "Flash," which will premiere this October, will sport stories that highlight the characters set to appear in "Legends of Tomorrow."

One of these stories is that of Sara Lance, also known as White Canary (Caity Lotz), who died in the previous season of "Arrow." Reports say that Canary will be resurrected in the Lazarus Pits to make way for her appearance in the spinoff.

Upon seeing "Legends of Tomorrow" trailer that was released at SDCC, fans, who presumed Lance was dead, were surprised to see her. Even the actress herself believed her character was long dead.

"I definitely thought I was done, I had definitely moved on mentally from that space," Lotz said according to Hypable.

Lotz also said in the EW interview that there will be major changes to her character since the person who gets into the Lazarus Pits will not necessarily be the same person who exits it; and it is something that she is excited about.

As for other characters, their fates are yet to be revealed and so fans simply need to wait until the show premieres.

"Legends of Tomorrow" is set to premiere in January 2016, but this is yet to be confirmed.
