'Killer Instinct' adds Cinder to character roster; Aria could appear

When developer Iron Galaxy Studios teased fans about an upcoming character for their "Killer Instinct" title, hardcore fans got a glimpse of a fiery man, and they hoped that it would be one of the classic fighters from the original games.

Fans were not disappointed, as the developer confirms that indeed, the upcoming character to be added to the current "Killer Instinct" fighting game is none other than Cinder. Starting out as an alien human hybrid on fire in the original "Killer Instinct' arcade game, the current character seems to be much more human this time, all wrapped up in flames.

The game's developer teased about a possible human torch player when it introduced another fighter, Hisako, in a video last month. Confirmation came in Iron Galaxy Studio's latest YouTube announcement, saying that Cinder will make his debut on the Xbox One at the end of the month for owners of the game's Ultra Edition. Meanwhile, the Combo Breaker Edition players can check out Cinder when the character is released on May 6.

Changing the backstory from the original's alien hybrid form, Cinder is now a mercenary. Named Ben Ferris, he is working as a military contractor when one of his missions crossed with Ultratech. Ben was tasked to infiltrate the facility and recover information about something called 'Project Cinder'.

To keep fans who are too attached to the original Cinder happy, Iron Galaxy Studios will also release a retro Cinder character, with the design and moves straight from the original arcade game.

Menawhile, aside from Cinder, another character who might be appearing in the future is Aria. The fighter was seen briefly in the newest video showcasing Cinder's moves and abilities.

Cinder would be the newest addition to the "Killer Instinct" roster. Other newly added characters include Fulgore and Riptor the cybernetic dinosaur.
