Julia Louis-Dreyfus celebrates Thanksgiving in Chicago amid breast cancer treatment

Amid her ongoing battle against breast cancer, award-winning actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus finds reasons to be thankful. The actress visited Chicago to celebrate Thanksgiving with her husband Brad Hall.

The couple visited their old stomping grounds as well as their old apartment in the city. They even snapped a photo for Instagram. "Our old apartment on the lake on the north side of Chicago where we happily lived IN SIN," Louis-Dreyfus captioned the photo. The actress also added the hashtag "thankful."

Both Louis-Dreyfus and Hall attended Northwestern University, and it was there that the two met and fell in love. Their son, Charlie, is currently attending the same university and is a player of its basketball team.

Louis-Dreyfus also posted a view of Chicago with the message, "Happy Thanksgiving early morning in Chicago. I love this town."

In September, the "Veep" star announced that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The news came one day after she won an Emmy for her role in the HBO series. It was her sixth consecutive win for the said role.

"1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I'm the one," the 56-year old actress wrote in her announcement. "The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring friends, and fantastic insurance through my union. The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let's fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality."

Since then, the production of "Veep" has been postponed as Louis-Dreyfus undergoes the necessary treatments. In October, she announced that she has finished the second round of chemotherapy.

According to "Veep" executive producer, Frank Rich, production will continue once the star is able to film. However, he revealed that the cast members of the series have been reading scripts in preparation for the show's final season.
