Soon-to-be mum Jessa Seewald is intent on having a healthy pregnancy, and not gaining too much weight along the way.

Seewald is due on November 1, and started healthy eating and exercise habits early in her pregnancy.

"I do want to make sure that I'm eating healthy," she admitted. "You are eating for two but the other is, like, a speck. I am trying to make healthy choices now that I'm entering my second trimester.

"I want to gain a little less weight and not stress out about it."

Jessa's husband, Ben, has discussed Jessa's concerns about her weight in the past, and said that he reminds her not to push herself too hard while she is carrying a baby.

"What does it mean for your workouts?" he asked his wife. "Let's adjust them for pregnancy."

The 22-year-old agreed that she will keep the baby's health first.

"I'm just trying not to overdo it right now," she conceded. "I am still working out, but not trying to break any records."

The Seewalds announced earlier this month that they are expecting their first child, after much speculation. The couple did not respond to pregnancy rumours during the first trimester, and announced the news and due date to fans in their own time.

Ben, 19, and Jessa married on November 1, and their due date is the same as their wedding anniversary.

Jessa's sister and brother-in-law, Jill and Derick Dillard, welcomed their first born on April 6. Baby Israel David was born over a week past due via C-section.

Jessa said she is not comparing her pregnancy to Jill's, however.

"I am not comparing, not worrying about what could happen, we are just getting prepared," Jessa said of Jill's 70-hour labour and delivery. "Every birth story is unique. We think we want to go with a midwife and plan for a home birth, but I want to just be prepared that not everything may go as planned and try not to get too worried about it."
