'iZombie' episode 2 spoilers: Liv seduces Major in 'Brother Can You Spare a Brain'

Just when it looked like everyone has grown tired of zombies beyond "The Walking Dead," "iZombie" comes along and injects an extra ounce of fun into the formula. The premiere episode garnered 2.3 million viewers as well as a 0.9 rating. Episode 2 looks like it is going to continue this trend.

"Brother Can You Spare a Brain" puts Liv (Rose McIver), Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) together as they try to solve the murder of a famous painter. When Liv eats his brain to dive into his memories, she also absorbs his sense of passion and ends up seducing Major (Robert Buckley).

At the same time, Blaine (David Anders) is set to make an unscheduled visit over at the morgue.

Right from the get-go, the synopsis of the episode indicates it will show more of Liv's capabilities as a zombie and how the world around her works. As shown in the premiere episode, Blaine's experimental drug was the reason for the zombie outbreak and it would be interesting to see him interact with Liv.

Executive Producer Rob Thomas stated in an interview at the DC All-Access that the TV show would depart greatly from the comic book source material, and this episode would be a good time to establish what's been kept and what's been changed.

Thomas stated that he preferred his zombies to be a result of faux-scientific accidents instead of the faux-supernatural, as it was in the source material. Episode 2 appears it might explore that aspect of the series.

The CW network is quickly picking up the pace with its slew of hit TV shows like "Arrow," "The Flash," and "Supernatural." "iZombie" looks like it is geared to join the network's list of stellar hits.

Episode 2, "Brother Can You Spare a Brain," is scheduled to air this March 24. It is directed by John Kretchmer and penned by Diane Ruggiero-Wright.
