iPad Pro 2015 specs: New Apple gadget could be announced today

Apple Store

Apple may be on the verge of making a landmark announcement this Wednesday concerning a new gadget which will reportedly be the iPad Pro.

People are already expecting Apple CEO Tim Cook to reveal the new lineup of iPhones at the upcoming event, but those will apparently not be the new gadgets on display.

If the iPad Pro does not sound familiar, that's probably because Apple has given no indication that they are planning to release this rumored device. The name of the new offering itself has not been confirmed, though most people have been referring to it as the iPad Pro.

The draw of the rumored iPad Pro is that it will fit the need of consumers looking for something in between the iPad and the Mac, according to CNN Money.

Sales of the iPad have also not been as good, and the new offering is expected to help shift that trend and finally convince consumers on the fence about buying an iPad to go that last step with the iPad Pro.

At its core, the iPad Pro is a larger version of the iPad. Still, even with that as the lone way to describe the new gadget, there is still plenty that it can offer to potential buyers.

The iPad Pro is expected to be outfitted with all the best hardware Apple has on hand, including a quad-core processor paired with 2 GB of RAM as well up to 128 GB of available storage, according to PC Advisor UK.

The new gadget will also likely have the TouchID fingerprint security feature and there are some rumblings that it may be equipped with the iOS 9 upon release.

There are also rumors suggesting that the iPad Pro could come with a stylus, although that is said to be unlikely given Apple's track record.
