Indy 500 live stream: Watch Indianapolis 500 race online (ABC)

The Indianapolis 500 will take place on Sunday and the 98th Indianapolis Motor Speedway race is set to be one to remember. The race will be shown on the ABC network with pre-race commentary having a start time of 11 a.m. ET. The actual Indy 500 race will start at 12.12 p.m. ET, and can be watched online through live stream via the link provided below.

Ed Carpenter is on the pole at the Indianapolis 500 once again. He managed to claim the pole in 2014 and he once again stormed through the qualifying competition to make sure he starts at the front again today.

Over four laps he averaged an amazing 231.067 mph, indicating that he certainly means business this year. He becomes only the 11th driver to claim consecutive poles at the Indy 500.

Carpenter has said, "I felt that it was harder. It was just a different position because when I made my run last year, we didn't really have anything to lose. This year, being the last guy to go out, I think there was a little bit of pressure to not mess it up."

Following Carpenter on the grid will be James Hinchcliffe, and then Will Power. Helio Castoneves, Simon Pagenaud, and Marco Andretti are the drivers who will make up the second row.

There will be a host of stars at this weekend's Indy 500, and six former Indianapolis 500 winners will be taking part in this year's race.

Past winners taking part this year include last year's victor, Tony Kanaan, and teammate Scott Dixon.

Helio Castoneves, who has won here multiple times, will also be racing today, and he is joined by fellow Penske teammate Juan Pablo Montoya, who won the Indy 500 in 2000.

Buddy Lazier, who won the race in 1996, will be hoping to make an impact this year as well.

Former Formula 1 driver, Jacques Villeneuve, who also won the Indy 500 in 1995, will also be taking part to complete a star packed line up.

This year's Indy 500 has a scheduled start time of 12.12 p.m. ET, and can be watched on TV on the ABC network.
