It seems that Huawei is looking to expand its mid-range lineup with another iteration soon, as reports suggest that a new Honor 5c will launch by the end of April.
According to GSM Arena, the Huawei Honor 5c has been spotted passing through the TENAA certification website, but the images that detail the supposedly upcoming mid-ranger were already taken down. However, the industry follower managed to list down the specs and features of the upcoming iteration.
Reportedly, the Huawei Honor 5c will be an all-metal unibody iteration, with a 5.2-inch display with 1080p resolution. While being a mid-range version, the Huawei Honor 5c still packs some above-average features, including a fingerprint scanner at the back and a 13-MP main camera setup.
Meanwhile, general specs of the Huawei Honor 5c list a 2.0 GHz, octa-core processor, so it may either be a MediaTek Helio X10 or a Snapdragon 625 processor (Huawei has been known to use both chipsets in previous lineups). The processor is paired with 2 GB of RAM, and the iteration comes with 16 GB of onboard storage, expandable via microSD.
Being a new addition to the smartphone market, the Huawei Honor 5c is also expected to come out with Android Marshmallow – at least the 6.0 version – right out of the box.
Phone Arena says that with the Honor 5c already passing certification requirements, its release date will come soon. The industry observer noted that its predecessor, the Hono4 4c, debuted April last year. This means that fans may expect Huawei to roll out the successor around the same time period this year.
The report also alluded to the Honor 5c being offered in at least two versions. Allegedly, aside from the base model, Huawei is planning a second, beefed-up version. An above-average version is expected to come out with 32 GB of internal storage, and may even feature at least 3 GB of RAM.
