HTC Aero could pack a MediaTek deca-core processor

Over a month ago, Taiwanese company HTC Corporation announced plans to launch its latest Aero smartphone product sometime this October.

In addition, it was recently revealed that the HTC Aero could arrive in the market as the HTC A9, along with a MediaTek deca-core Helio X20 processor under its hood, according to Phone Arena. Phone Arena adds that the new phone could also sport a 2.5D curved glass along with a metal chassis.

According to Trusted Reviews, the Helio X20 chipset was first unveiled earlier this year in May. It comes with a 10 processor cores divided into three clusters, the report added. This will also improve battery efficiency by 30 percent.

In terms of the specifications, earlier reports suggested the HTC A9 might sport a display screen with Quad HD pixel resolution (2560 x 1440). Inside, there could be either 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM along with a large battery.

The HTC A9 was previously rumored to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. However, recent reports say HTC is planning to use this processor for another new handset called the HTC O2. According to Trusted Reviews, the colors available for the HTC A9 could be dark grey and tyrant gold.

In terms of the price, International Business Times said the HTC A9 could cost around US$470 to US$626.

Earlier this year, HTC's Chief Executive Officer Cher Wang announced the company's plan to release a new handset sometime this year, in an effort to improve its smartphone products and business. The move came after the launch of the HTC One M9 back in March of this year.

In the meantime, the IFA 2015 event is fast approaching. Major tech brands such as Samsung, Sony, Huawei, and ASUS are expected to appear at event and unveil their latest products.

Samsung is anticipated to showcase its latest Gear S2 smartwatch, while ASUS is expected to reveal a new smartphone and smartwatch, among others.
