After the success of the dragon-filled animated film, DreamWorks Animation will return with a sequel to "How To Train Your Dragon."

It's been three years since everyone saw Hiccup and his dragon, Toothless, and now they will be back with new adventures in "How to Train Your Dragon 3," which will feature some "tearjerking" scenes, according to sources.

It was also reported by Latinos Health that the upcoming movie will be likened to Toy Story 3, with a main theme of growing up and setting out on different directions.

According to "How to Train Your Dragon" writer and director Dean DeBlois, the movie will pick up on the story based on the books, in which Hiccup was seen as a grown-up reminiscing on the era of dragons, suggesting that the creatures will go away in some way.

DeBois also added that the reason for why the dragons left will remain a mystery that "will be saved for the actual story."

On the other hand, the director also claimed that the sequel may also feature Drago Bludvist's story, which was never given focus in the previous movies.

Another rumor was about actor Jay Baruchel, who did Hiccup's voice. Since Hiccup will be featured as an all-grown up character in the new movie, it is only expected that he will also have a grown-up voice.

But can Baruchel take on the challenge, or will somebody else take his place?

With all those speculations, surely fans could not wait for the movie release.

Originally, the movie was slated for a 2016 release in time for the Summer Movie Season, as reported in Screen Rant.

But apparently, the film won't make it by then and was pushed to 2017, for the reason that a 2016 release would be the same release date for Pixar's "Finding Dory."

"How to Train Your Dragon 3" is scheduled to hit cinemas on June 9, 2017, two weeks after the release of an untitled LEGO Movie.

More release date announcements will surely come and Toothless fans just have to wait for them.
