'House of Cards' season 4 spoilers, cast news: possible character additions

House of Cards' Kevin Spacy and Robin Wright

As previously reported, there are rumors that Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his wife Claire (Robin Wright) may adopt a baby in season 4 of "House of Cards" in order to save their reputation, after they had a serious fall out in the season 3 finale. A new casting call now appears to support this rumor even further.

The casting call has been posted on the official Facebook page for Marinella Hume Casting Baltimore/ DC and it lists down the call for twin or triplet Caucasian girls aged 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years. The casting call specifies that the girls will come in for "House of Cards" to play a character named "Lilly."

It isn't specified if Lilly will be the adopted daughter of Frank and Claire or if she will be the daughter of another couple in the series. However, the casting call does point out that Lilly will be the daughter of "prominent parents" in the series.

There is also another casting call posted on the page hunting for males and females aged 25 to 50 years with no facial hair and unnatural hair color to portray doctors, nurses, and other medical staff. Applicants don't necessarily have to be real doctors or nurses but having the experience is a bonus.

While Netflix has not yet officially stated that Frank and Claire will adopt a baby in season 4, these casting calls imply that they might at least consider it. The medical staff may play an important role in the adoption process and there are speculations that Lilly may be a sickly child that the couple will adopt and treat to boost their public image.

After all, Frank did backtrack on his decision of not running for re-election during the final episodes of season 3. Season 4 will see a younger couple threaten the authority of Frank and Claire and this adoption process may be their ace-in-the-hole to overcome their new opponents.

"House of Cards" season 4 premieres in 2016.
