Holy Land visit made Kathie Lee Gifford's 'eclectic' group of friends believe in Jesus

Television host Kathie Lee Gifford, fresh off a visit to the Holy Land, recently shared that the trip became a life changing journey for some members of their party.

Gifford said that while she was not new to visiting the Holy Land - as she has been doing it for 45 years - she took an eclectic group of people this time around to join her – Sikhs, Hindus, Scientologists, angry Catholics, Baptists and some of her family members, The Christian Post reported.

While many members of the group were not believers of Jesus before the journey, experiencing a trip to the Holy Land changed them.

"I would say half of them were not believers in Jesus, in what we all agree is the way the truth and the light. [But] about half of them ended up in the Jordan river, because they started to experience that joy, that wonder, that sense of possibility," she said.

Gifford said that one friend in particular, who used to resist embracing faith because she was so well educated, joined the trip because she was intrigued by Gifford's faith and wanted to understand what fuelled it.

During their trip, Gifford noted that her friend, while hesitant at first, was able to receive a different type of education and willingly experienced the Jordan River.

"We thought we were all done and then in the next 5 minutes, she was in. People take their own time and we got to let them," she said, adding that this is similar to finding people's faith, where they should be given time and space to embrace and open their hearts to God.

Gifford encouraged the faithful not to give up on their friends, family or loved ones who do not think that faith is for them. She said that while it takes time for some, they will be ready at the right time.

"First of all, we're just here to plant the seed and let the Holy Spirit do the work," she advised.
