A new character is set to ensure that "all roads lead to damnation" when the fifth season of AMC's drama "Hell on Wheels" returns on July 18.

Writer/Director Rod Lurie took to Twitter to post a couple of photos of the new addition to the cast. Her name is Josie Rose and according to Lurie, she will "rock" the season.

Josie will be played by Paige Patterson, though what she will be bringing to the western TV series remains a mystery. As she is seen in a snapshot with Eva (Robin McLeavy), many speculate that she might have an encounter with the tattooed woman on the show.

Meanwhile, a new trailer posted by Spoiler TV shows Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) considering changing loyalties to the railroad bosses behind competing railroad companies Central Pacific (CPR) and Union Pacific. Viewers can also get the feel that the former Confederate soldier is still haunted by the loss of his family.

The series' final season will see Bohannon finally moving to the west of the United States and sign on to the CPR as a stakeholder. The company has provided him with a new challenge after hiring a new set of workers from China who do not speak English. The united American and Chinese manpower tasked to build the railroad will include three new characters.

Byron Mann will play the role of Chang, the man who controls the 15,000 Chinese railroad workers, while Reg Rogers will be James Strobridge, the CPR construction boss. Tzi Ma is Tao, one of most revered men on the railroad force. The season also marks the return of Christopher Heyerdahl as the ambiguous The Swede.

In a report from Zap2it, showrunner John Wirth said the new season would be "the beginning of the end."

"What you're going to see this year is everything we haven't had a chance to do in previous seasons," he revealed.

"Hell on Wheels" Season 5 premieres Saturday on AMC.
