Hundreds of sickening instances of beheadings, amputations and torture in the Islamic State-controlled city of Mosul, considered as Iraq's Christian heartland, for the period of September alone have been catalogued in a dossier by an activist group working in the city.
The dossier, which shows the brutality and terrifying life under ISIS rule, was written and compiled by the Mosul Eye, a community documenting life in one of Iraq's ISIS dominated cities since the jihadist group seized the area in June last year, according to the Express.
From Sept. 1 to 30, a total of 455 people were executed by the terror group in Mosul alone. The information also indicated the location, ethnicity and religion of the victims.
One victim was reportedly "chopped into small pieces" by ISIS fighters.
ISIS also carried out whipping sentences on 118 people, mainly for beard shaving, which the jihadist group sees as un-Islamic; violating the dress code and not attending prayers. People were also whipped for listening to music and smoking, said the Express.
A 63-year-old man, who was being meted a whipping sentence, suddenly "blasphemed God and the Prophet,'' leading to his instant beheading in front of a large crowd at Nab Attoob.
Businessman Karim Alumar, a popular figure in Mosul, was sentenced to be whipped for not closing his restaurant in time for prayers.
At least 88 people also had their hands chopped off for stealing.
The dossier said the new data covering the month of September were gathered through personal accounts, ISIS reports and medical records. It was written in both English and Arabic.
Crimes such as apostasy, blasphemy, spying, "fornication" and "mockery were meted with death sentences, it said.
Also, photos of 10 of ISIS' own fighters apparently accused of "committing war crimes against the people of Mosul'' were published in the report.
Aside from the executions, the data also details coalition airstrike targets in Mosul, listing the dozens of ISIS fighters killed in the attacks on their military convoys, ammunition stores and strikes against group leaders. It likewise indicates the entry of 13 new young members from Russia and China who have volunteered to join ISIS fighters.
The ISIS tightly monitors and controls information in the city. It has executed people for releasing details about their activities.
But the Mosul Eye group has been able to release ISIS routines, even posting updates of activities going on at the caliphate on its Facebook account, according to the Express.
