The perfect start to the 2015–16 regular season continues for defending champions the Golden State Warriors as they survived a competitive Toronto Raptors squad to capture a 115–110 victory at home last Tuesday and improve to 12–0.
However, it was not an easy win for the Dubs as the Raptors fought back and overcame an 18-point deficit to threaten the champions, but their efforts came up short.
Leading the way for Golden State as always is reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) point guard Stephen Curry who had 37 points, shooting 13 of 23 from the field, including five of 10 from three-point country.
Curry also had two rebounds, nine assists, and two steals in 40 minutes of action against Toronto.
As of the moment, the 27-year-old franchise star seems to be on track to again win the MVP trophy as he averages 33.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 2.4 steals per contest.
Helping Curry in the win was his fellow Splash Brother guard Klay Thompson who had 19 points, one rebound, and three assists.
Center Andrew Bogut also had a standout performance contributing 13 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.
In a report by the Associated Press, Curry spoke about the game and how they can learn from it since the Raptors had the chance of handing them their first defeat of the season.
"We hold ourselves to a very high standard. We didn't put any pressure on them defensively in the third quarter. We were sloppy on a couple of possessions offensively and gave them life. Those are things we need to improve on. Everyone likes to learn those lessons in wins," the two-time All-Star explained, according to the report.
The Warriors still lead the Western Conference with their unblemished record and will next take on their rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers today, Thursday. The Warriors defeated the Clippers in their first meeting this season held earlier this month.
