Gettys to wrap up sell-out tour in Glasgow

The Gettys will be joined by around 200 singers and local musicians when they play their last show on the Northern Celtic Tour this Sunday.

Keith and Kristyn are rounding off their sell-out tour at the Glasgow SECC.

Highly-acclaimed musicians from both sides of the Atlantic will be joining them on stage, as will tour companion Stuart Townend.

The final night will weave together traditional celtic, American folk and bluegrass music.

The concert will also feature the New Scottish Orchestra.

"We have already had our first sell out event in Scotland on Wednesday night in Inverness," said Jason McAuley, artistic director of New Scottish Arts.

"The musicians were fantastic and the atmosphere was special. What a privilege to be able to sing these songs of praise in some wonderful venues!"

A central part of the celebration will be a rendition of their hits "In Christ Alone" - co-written with Stuart Townend - and "Jesus, Joy of the Highest Heaven" along with 30 children from the Glasgow area, aged between nine and 14.

The choir will be directed by Douglas Fleming, music teacher at the High School of Glasgow.

"Those coming to the concert can expect a great night of community," said Keith.

"From singing together songs of our faith to laughing together as our band continues the fun into the foyer after the programme. It’s a big evening of music and of joy."
