'Full House' sequel coming to Netflix? 'Fuller House' to feature Candace Cameron Bure?

Cast of Full House ABC

Two years ago, Screen Rant ran an April Fool's joke about "Full House" getting a sequel 20 years after the show ended, but new reports from TVLine indicate that a 13-episode sequel titled "Fuller House" is indeed in the works.

According to the report, Netflix is closing in on a deal to revive the late 80s to mid-90s TV show. "Fuller House" will now focus on D.J. Tanner, once again played by Candace Cameron Bure, instead of her father, uncle, and their best friend. D.J. will be accompanied by her best friend Kimmy, played by Andrea Barber.

John Stamos, Bob Saget, and Dave Coulier will reportedly make guest appearances as Jesse Katsopolis, Danny Tanner, and Joey Gladstone, respectively. Stamos is said to be on board as producer for the show as well. There's no word yet if the rest of the cast will return. Jodie Sweetin and the Olsen twins have not given their official statements regarding the revival of "Full House" or their involvement with the alleged new show.

Reports say that executive producers for "Fuller House" include Thomas L. Miller, Robert L. Boyett, and series creator Jeff Franklin. All three also served as executive producers for the original show.

However, Warner Bros. has not yet commented on the reports of a series revival, and a Netflix representative stated this is all just a rumor at this point.

Stamos also posted via Twitter, "Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see."

"Full House" originally aired from 1987 to 1995 and was the launch pad for the career of Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen. The show is but one of the many series from the 1980s and 1990s that might see a revival. "Coach" is expected to re-emerge on NBC, while the science-fiction/ horror series "X-Files" is coming back to Fox.
