Franklin Graham recalls all U.S. presidents he's met, hopes the next one would also be a person of 'deep faith'

Thanks to the influence wielded by his father Billy, Franklin Graham was fortunate enough to have met several American presidents in his lifetime.

The evangelist sincerely hopes that the next one to be seated in the White House would share the same Christian faith exhibited by presidents of the past.

"I've had the privilege of meeting every U.S. president since Lyndon B. Johnson," Franklin writes on his Facebook page. "I remember I was in high school at Stony Brook School for boys in New York when my father asked me to join him for the weekend at the White House with President Johnson. I was scared to death!"

They went to see the president on a Saturday and arrived just in time for dinner. Franklin already knows that he should be on his best behaviour, and his father even instructed him to "eat everything on my plate." Franklin admitted that even though it was such a scary experience for a kid, he still found it "fascinating."

"Throughout history, many of our presidents have expressed faith in God. Some have had a deep faith, and our country was blessed because of them. As we come to choosing who our next president will be, it is more important than ever that we choose a leader who doesn't just say they believe in God, but someone who follows Him," he says. "We need a president who looks to God for wisdom and direction and lives his life in holy fear of the Almighty. Let's make that our prayer this Presidents Day."

Franklin is not endorsing any presidential candidate for the upcoming elections, but he is encouraging Christians from all across the nation to come out and vote.
