Disney star David Henrie might have risen to fame for his role in the television show Wizards of Waverly Place, but the child actor said that it is actually the Christian film Little Boy that made the most impact on his life.

In the film, Henrie plays London Busbee, the older brother of a young boy who is willing to do whatever it takes to end World War II in order to get his father home.

Henrie told Breathecast that when he read the script, he was so moved by the story that he wept uncontrollably. He then called up his agent and said, "This is the best script I ever read, please get me in for this."

He admitted that before Little Boy, he was in a "very agnostic place" in his life. The whole cast and crew of the film all had different beliefs, and Henrie had no clue that there were Christians behind the film. But the actor said that because of them, his life was influenced for the better.

"They were instrumental in changing my life, helping me to find the greater good and awaken the little boy in my heart, and led me back to my faith, led me back to my beliefs, and it has completely changed my life," he said.

Henrie began acting at the age of nine, but he revealed it was still a challenge to be a part of Little Boy because of its emotionally heavy content.

"The emotion was a lot and I wasn't used to that. Angry and emotional all the time was tough, but you learn to laugh at it," he said.

The movie is written and directed by Smithsonian Institute Award winning director Alejandro Monteverde, with powerhouse couple Mark Burnett and Roma Downey serving as executive producers. It has been scheduled for release on April 24, 2015.
