Season 1 of ABC's supernatural drama series "Forever" ended with a cliffhanger during its finale episode and viewers were left wondering what would've happened if the show was renewed for a second season.

Season 1 finale wrapped up with Henry Morgan, the immortal doctor portrayed by Ioan Gruffudd, on the verge of revealing his deepest secret to New York Police Department (NYPD) detective Jo Martinez (Alana de la Garza) after she saw a photo of him from decades ago and noticed he hasn't changed a bit.

That was much of a cliffhanger but show creator Matt Miller shared some details on what "Forever" could have been if it weren't cancelled. Miller took to Twitter to answer some of the questions fans had for the show.

In the Twitter Q&A portion, a fan asked if Henry would really be able to tell Jo about his immortality, but Miller revealed that the doctor was about to but there was some complication and interruption.

Fans would expect that if ever there was one person who knew Henry's secret, it would have been Jo, but Miller reveals it's not the case as Lucas would have been that person.

Miller also revealed that Henry had been married in the past, and he and his wife had kids, who could've been introduced in a series of flashbacks if season 2 had been renewed, Fashion & Style reported.

"Forever" was cancelled by ABC in May and no other network stepped up to own the series. After the announcement of its cancellation, there were rumors that the show could possibly be adopted by other networks or even streaming services like Netflix, but that didn't happen.

Still, there could be a possibility that the show might return because as Miller had posted via TwitLonger, "This is a hard message to write but I'm sorry to report that despite Warner Bros. best efforts they haven't been able to find a new home for Forever. That doesn't mean they won't keep trying."

"Forever" fans just have to hope that the show's team would try even harder and that some cable network will finally take in the series for a renewed season.
