'Five Nights at Freddy's' news: Scott Cawthon upcoming FNaF spinoff prematurely teased?

Scott Cawthon teases a new "Five Nights at Freddy's" game on his website Scott Cawthon

Fans haven't seen the last of the killer animatronics from "Five Nights at Freddy's" after all. Developer Scott Cawthon is back, and he is teasing the reawakening of the indie survival horror point-and-click series.

The title of the new "Five Nights at Freddy's" is "Sister Location," as released in the image dominating Cawthon's website. The tagline reads "There was never just one," which suggests that there's another place of horror other than Freddy Fazbear's Pizza that fans are yet to visit.

However, it looks like "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" was not meant to be fully revealed this early. As per Reddit user FNAFNovelSpoilers, Cawthon originally planned to reveal each letter of the title every two weeks, with the complete name to be fully uncovered by the end of the year.

Unfortunately, someone hacked the website and found the image. This reportedly forced Cawthon to reveal the new "Five Nights at Freddy's" game five months earlier than he intended to.

Despite this early reveal, the game won't be here anytime soon. The Reddit user claims that "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" might not turn up until October.

Previous "Five Nights at Freddy's" titles were all set in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, home to Freddy and his murderous animatronics gang, who roam the place at night with lust for blood.

Gamers play the role of a night watch security guard in the place, who, if not cautious enough, will get himself killed by the animal characters.

The "Five Nights at Freddy's" series currently includes four installments. There was also the flop RPG spinoff "Five Nights at Freddy's World," which was pulled from the market after complaints and poor reviews.

Whatever Cawthon has in store, the prospect that there might be more haunted places other than Freddy Fazbear's Pizza gives the developer a massive legroom to further develop the series, despite Cawthon saying that "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" was its last.
