'Final Fantasy 7' remake release date: Xbox One version will come eventually

Final Fantasy VII Square-Enix

According to EB Games Australia, the much-ballyhooed "Final Fantasy 7" remake will most likely be available on the Xbox One at some point or another.

The retailer broke the news after one Facebook user asked them directly if the game was going to be available on the Xbox One. According to EB Games, though the game has only been announced for the Playstation 4, it will still be made available for Microsoft's current gen console. EB Games said that the only difference is that the Playstation 4 has been given early access to the "Final Fantasy 7" remake.

EB Games is even doubling down on its claim that the remake will be available for the Xbox One by already listing it on their web site.

If EB Games is correct, it would mean that the "Final Fantasy 7" remake will merely be a timed exclusive, according to Attack of the Fanboy.

In related news, Tetsuya Nomura, the recently announced director for the remake, said that he was surprised by the news that he had been tabbed to helm the game.

According to iDigital Times, Nomura only found out that he would be directing the remake during the internal screening of the game's trailer.

Despite being initially caught off guard by the news that he was to be the remake's director, Nomura already has his own ideas for what the game should be. He said that the game will not feature any new characters, but he did say that he plans to update the game's graphics to take advantage of the technology available now.

As for the game's story, Nomura has also indicated that they have no plans to make any grand changes to the plot that many fans are already very familiar with.

No official release date has been announced for the "Final Fantasy 7" remake, but most fans are hoping that it will be available by 2017.
