'Final Fantasy 15' release ews: Hajime Tabata explains wardrobe choices for title

 Square Enix

More details about Square Enix's upcoming action role-playing game "Final Fantasy 15" were recently unveiled by the game's director himself.

One of the highly talked about aspects of the upcoming 15th major installment from the "Final Fantasy" franchise is the wardrobe worn by the game's protagonists.

Based on Hajime Tabata's explanation, the clothing worn by the four major characters of the game happen to be the official battle garments worn by the warriors of the Kingdom of Lucis. He also mentioned that each one of them have to wear a particular battle attire that corresponds to their roles in the game.

The game's lead character, Noctis, is a member of the royal family, while three of his friends are members of different Lucian national organizations. To distinguish them from one another, the game developers decided to give each one of them individualized styles of clothing.

Tabata also explained that they choose the color black as the major color of the characters' wardrobe. He said the color has a historical significance in the Kingdom of Lucis.

Meanwhile, Tabata also claimed that there is a big possibility of having more open-world video games like "Final Fantasy 15" in the near future.

In his recent interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine (via Games Radar), the director explained: "I think in some ways, everyone is heading in the same direction at the moment. Guerrilla Games' Horizon is going a very similar way as well. The idea of having an open-world, seamless travel between areas, having to hunt and fight... I think the technology is now at a place where people can try and achieve these things properly."

The plans to release "Final Fantasy XV"  was initiated back in 2006 for the PlayStation 3, but the game's development took a back seat over time until the game developer announced last year that the game will now come to the PlayStation 4 platform sometime in 2016.
