Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson recently shared a photo of himself as Agent Luke Hobbs in "Fast 8" via Instagram, teasing that the formidable agent is going to go through some signifcant changes and challenges in the next movie.

The caption from Johnson's post hints that the character is going to be stripped of everything that he holds dear. Fans speculate this may mean he will be set up and betrayed, forcing the character to stay in a prison and be separated from his daughter.

Putting Hobbs in jail may lead to Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and the gang breaking him out and, under the orders of Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell), go back out and hunt down the real enemy of the film. As stated in a report from the Daily Mail, this new antagonist will be portrayed by Charlize Theron.

In the report, Theron gave a simple but positive response when the studios asked her to portray the villain for the film and the report reveals several photos of the cast working together, including an image of Johnson greeting Theron at the airport. Another image showcases Kurt Russell having a good time with Tyrese Gibson and another with Johnson flexing a muscle at the camera.

At this point it is unclear whom Theron is portraying. Fans speculate she may be tied to the villains of "Fast and Furious 6" and "Fast and Furious 7" or that she may have connections to Mr. Nobody and Agent Luke Hobbs. All that has been confirmed at this point is that she is the primary villain of the film and is the first female villain in the series.

"Fast and the Furious 8" will premiere in theaters on April 14, 2017 and is helmed by "Straight Outta Compton" director F. Gary Gray. "Fast 9" will follow suit on 2019 and "Fast 10," the supposed final film in the series, will be released in 2021.
