'Far Cry 5' release date, gameplay news update: Game set in Montana to give more realistic gaming experience

Time and time again, the "Far Cry" titles have always found success in every game they release. With the new "Far Cry 5" on its way, many gamers are confused with the decisions of Ubisoft, the game's developer, as to the setting of the new game.

Ubisoft creative director Dan Hay was interviewed a week ago, and willingly shared a lot of answers to gamers' curiosity. Indeed, Montana seems like a very far off place compared to where most of the previous "Far Cry" locations were. However, as Hay indirectly mentions in the interview, there definitely is a reason for Ubisoft setting it in Montana.

"We wanted to put you in a situation that was different and unique. We've all driven down those dusty roads in wherever it is that we're from," said Hay during the interview.

"We end up going out in the wilderness, and you feel this sense of 'Okay. I'm shedding the tapestry of urban, and I'm moving into the wilderness.' It's really interesting for us to tell the stories of people that have been cut off for a little while and make their own rules," he further added.

For those who have already played the previous "Far Cry" games, it also makes sense for the storyline to place "Far Cry 5" in a rural area, as per Cinema Blend. The Father, the leader of the Eden's Gate cult, has been constantly buying land through the Hope County, including the small towns which the game is set in. The Father's plan is to bring in more cultists slowly as he buys more land.

This is where the gamers in "Far Cry 5" find themselves in. With this knowledge, they are tasked to liberate these small towns of these Eden Gate's cultists. However, this time, there is a lot more interaction with different characters and even animals. There is a co-op feature for the main game, as well as a recruitment of AI's and even guard dogs to accompany players in their mission.

"Far Cry 5" is set to be released on Feb. 27, 2018.
