'Fallout Shelter' gameplay: Tips and tricks for fun game experience

 iTunes

Fallout Shelter, a game available only to iPhone and iPad, is about building and managing a vault coming from the popular game Fallout.

This standalone game is not the same as Fallout 4 for iPhone and stats and game bonuses do not have a tie-in with the Fallout 4 game set to be released later this year.

The Fallout Shelter gameplay features a style that resembles SimCity and XCom. There is no right way to play the game but some tips and tricks would come in handy for a faster level up, getting more dwellers and getting access to new types of buildings.

To start off, players must build rooms with a purpose. The secret is to build rooms next to each other to bring better performance, as suggested by Gottabemobile.

In addition, it also helps if dwellers are placed in the right rooms to improve and boost production inside that room.

As for surviving the game, Cammy Harbison of iDigitalTimes writes that dwellers should store weapons and put them to good use.

According to her tip, if players don't have enough weapons, it only means that the player did not effectively send out dwellers into the Wastelands.

The trick is to send out the right dweller—one who is well-equipped with the right weapons. Most dwellers can survive for an hour and half in the Wastelands, but more than that would be risky.

Overall, succeeding in the game means to manage resources well to help sustain dwellers. As the game progresses, players should expect more challenges in maintaining the vault.

Meanwhile, IGN also shares some quick tips to make it easier for players. Some of the tips include not giving pregnant women weapons, mixing up mating pairs, and making dwellers happy by making a baby.

It appears that Fallout Shelter would be a great game for those who find Sim City or build games fun. Unfortunately for Android users, the game is not available yet, although it has been announced that an Android version of the game is on the works.
