Viewers will see Molly (Halle Berry) set out to get her son back in the upcoming episode of CBS' science fiction drama series "Extant."

In "The New Frontier," TV Guide reports that the International Space Exploration Agency (ISEA) astronaut will finally discover that Ethan (Pierce Gagnon) is still alive and is trying to contact her. Meanwhile, JD Richter (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) will investigate Julie's (Grace Gummer) possible involvement with John's (Goran Visnjic) death after suspicions arise.

Hollywood Hills also reveals Molly's state of mind besides worrying for her son. It appears that she is afraid that she may be changing into a cross-breed. She will also be seen whipping out a gun and threatening somebody in the show's promo.

Last episode, Molly was approached by Toby, even after her failed attempt to kill him, to create a virus that would destroy the hybrids without harming any humans. While working with the hybrid genetics, she discovered some sort of sound wave inside the genetic markers. She heard a voice saying "help me" while playing it over the speaker, but the other geneticist working with her could not.

Meanwhile, she and JD started to get closer after the latter asked Molly's help to check out his pregnant daughter. The cop also observed that something was not right with her. She then disclosed that she believed she was sick and that she had some kind of spore contamination after her last mission to space. Then she had one of her "attacks" and tried to seduce JD until he managed to get her back to her senses.

Elsewhere, Ethan was still having memory flashes of his mother. He told the other Humanich Lucy (Kiersey Clemons) about his thoughts and she convinced him to track down Molly. Ethan went to her house until another recollection caused his system to crash. Charlie (Tyler Hilton), who was in charge of the two robots while Julie was not around, set out to find him and bring him home. When Molly arrived home, she immediately realized that her son had been there, after seeing the message he left on her bathroom mirror.

"Extant" airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
