Exodus: Gods and Kings - new trailer focuses on the 10 plagues

A new trailer has been released for Exodus: Gods and Kings, due for US release on December 12.

Christian Bale, Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver, John Turturro and Joel Edgerton make up the all-star cast in the Ridley Scott epic.

In the latest clip, Bale's Moses is introduced to his destiny, we are given a glimpse of some of the ten plagues, with locusts swarming the screen, and the parting of the swelling sea is recreated to powerful effect.

On Tuesday Bale attended a preview of eight scenes of the film, where he said he had read extensively to prepare for the role, including reading the Torah and the Koran.

He also admitted to doing some more light-hearted research, including watching Monty Python's The Life of Brian and Mel Brooks' History of the World: part I.

Bale described Moses as a "very troubled, tumultuous man and mercurial".
