Gamers who have been eager to see when "Elder Scrolls 6" will be released may have to set that aside for now. This is after game developer Bethesda announced that the company will devote much of its time right now on "Fallout 4."

The "Elder Scrolls" line will be pushed forward to an undisclosed date so folks who were hoping for an upcoming release may have to wait until the next installment get any headway. And judging from the words of Bethesda Softwork Vice President for PR and Marketing Pete Hines, that wait could take a while.

The company also revealed that they plan to release four big game titles annually from the previous two. He likewise added that the dedication on "Fallout 4" comes with belief that the said game will be a whole lot bigger than "Elder Scrolls" series.

Such could be a big blow for the players who have been hoping for an "Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim successor." Many were banking on rumors to materialize for an "Elder Scrolls 6" until Hines divulged the sad news.

Understandably, it is all about going with the one that is the better performing variant that can benefit Bethesda. And of the two, it seems "Fallout 4" seems to be the more promising game variant to push.

It may be a setback for the ones who were hoping for a long-awaited release of "Elder Scrolls." But with the announcement, the earliest possible unconfirmed time that the said game may get could be by 2017 if lucky.

Despite announcing that they would be bumping up the yearly production to four game titles a year, it remains to be seen if "Elder Scrolls" would be one of them for 2016. Hence, a conservative guess could be 2017 as mentioned earlier.

Hopefully the long wait will be worth it, especially for the ones longing for a next "Elder Scrolls" sequel.
