Thomas Eric Duncan from Libya, who succumbed to Ebola Virus Disease in Dallas this week, last expressed his desire to see his estranged son Karsiah Eric Duncan as his last wish. The tragic revelation was made by the Senior Pastor, George Mason from the Wilshire Baptist Church.

At a prayer service organized for Duncan on Wednesday morning, Mason spoke about 42-year-old Duncan, who had come to Texas "in hope."

"The last words that (Thomas) Eric Duncan said were said to a nurse. She asked him what he wanted. He said he wanted to see his son. She asked him where his son was. He said he was in college, where he should be. He was very proud of his son, and his son too wanted to see his father," Daily Mail quoted Mason as saying.

Duncan's son 19-year-old Kasiah Eric Duncan, a student at San Angelo State University, Texas, last saw his father when he was three. He then left Liberia and travelled to America with his mother, Louise Troh, following a falling out.

Duncan had come to America to marry the "love of his life," Troh. She, along with her 13-year-old son and two nephews remains in quarantine to make sure that she too has not contracted Ebola, since the disease takes 21 days to manifest symptoms.

The prayer, which was planned as a vigil of hope turned out to be a place where fond memories of Duncan was shared.

Earlier this week, Karsiah, who had also travelled all the way to Dallas in the hope of meeting his father, had asked the Christian community to pray for his dad and his family. "Keep praying that my family is going to be okay and my dad makes it out safely. I hope they find a cure for it," addressed Karsiah to the community.

"I just came out here because I feel like God was calling me to see my dad even though I got school still going on," Time had quoted Karsiah as saying.
