"Duck Dynasty" castmember Phil Robertson spoke at the 2014 Republican Leadership Conference Thursday night in New Orleans, and urged the GOP leaders to draw closer to God.

Robertson said that our contemporary definition of the separation of church and state is a lie, and that politicians should follow the Lord's will in each decision they make.

"GOP, you can't be right for America if you're wrong with God," he told the several thousand people in attendance.

"You want to turn the Republican Party around? Get Godly."

The A&E reality star also decried decisions made by the Obama administration.

"We're up against evil like I've never seen in my life," he said.

"I'm sitting there and I'm thinking, 'What's coming out of the White House?' The only thing I can tell you folks is it's just downright embarrassing."

The Duck Commander multi-millionaire came under increased scrutiny last year after he made a series of controversial comments in GQ Magazine. In addition to condemning homosexuality, Robertson claimed that blacks were happier before the Civil Rights Movement, and compared Shintoists and Muslims to Nazis.

In Thursday's speech, he combated accusations that he is racist.

"There's one race on this planet, and it's called the human race," he stated. "Therefore you have no right to color-code anyone. We're all the same family."

He repeated those sentiments in a post-speech interview.

"I would never judge or condemn anyone...I just give them the Good News," Robertson told Fox News.

He also said that despite his appearance at a political event, he is about spiritual warfare, not political warfare.

"I'm warning them to give their lives to God Almighty, Jesus, His Son, and be saved from their sin.

"I have a task to do. I go forth across America... I've been doing this for 35 years. My message is always the same: God loves you; He sent Jesus to die for you."

The 2014 Republican Leadership Conference runs through May 31.
