The countdown to the U.S. television premiere of the "DBZ" sequel series, "Dragon Ball Super" has took off, with fans clamoring for newer details six days before the anime's official release.
Design and Trend earlier reported that a plot synopsis for the first episode of the TV series has just been revealed in the August edition of V Jump magazine. According to the website, the series will take place shortly after Goku's triumph over Majin Buu.
"After defeating Majin Buu, life is peaceful once again. Ordered by Chi-chi to earn money, Goku works even as he wants to train even more," the blurb claims.
The spoiler also shared the good news that Gohan and Videl are starting to take their relationship to the next level and will get married.
A new commercial, meanwhile, introduces an antagonist called Shanpa. The character will appear alongside God of Destruction Beerus and Whis, which will both return from the "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods" and "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" films as regular characters, according to the Anime News Network.
As details of the TV series continue to emerge, fans are excitedly guessing which characters will be resurrected and what new story lines will be added to the classic anime. One of the most awaited parts is the eventuality that Goten and Trunks will reach their teenage years and become powerful Super Saiyans.
Another detail to watch out for is the new breed of intergallactic villains aiming to steal the Dragon Balls and how the Z-fighters will form unlikely alliances to battle the staggering odds.
"Dragon Ball Super" is the continuation of the popular Japanese series written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama in 1984. The first Dragon Ball Z series aired in the U.S. in 1996 and quickly became one of the most popular shows in the Cartoon Network.
The newest TV series will air on July 5 via Fuji TV and will be shown every Saturdays at 9 a.m.
