"DOTA" developer Valve Software has just announced that the first ever campaign mode of "DOTA 2" will be released this week.

The campaign, titled "Siltbreaker," is divided into two acts. The first, which is titled "Sand of Fate," will be playable within this month. The second half, meanwhile, is dubbed "A Vault in the Deep," and it will be available in July. Four players — either composed of people who actually know each other or matched online — will be exploring the "blackest depths of Dark Reef," where they will face several challenges, including fearsome monsters and traps. They will need to work together in order to overcome these.

Playing this will allow gamers to earn campaign XP. According to its official website, "Desert Sands Baby Roshan" will also be available exclusively on the Wheel of Rewards.

Those who already have a 2017 Battle Pass, which will be made available this week, will be able to access the campaign. If not, they can purchase this for $10. Getting the Battle Pass will not just allow players to get the story mode, they will also be able to gain other in-game perks, such as Battle Point Tribute, Team Quests, Prestige Towers, Queue Trivia, and Rank Double Down, according to Kill Ping.

As reported on Christian Post, 25 percent of the sales will go to The International 2017 prize pool. Last year, Valve was able to make $19 million in Battle Pass sales. The prize pool is currently at $6.67 million.

The patch also included updates outside of the new campaign mode. The biggest change incorporated there is that players who are level 5 and below and have not linked to a phone number or have previously made purchases on Steam will no longer be able to access group chat. Those who do not have a registered number will no longer be eligible for Ranked Play. However, a two-week grace period is given to them to take action.
