Donald Trump gets shocking answer when he asked who's winning Democratic debate

When leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump raised a question on Twitter asking netizens who they thought was winning in the first US Democratic presidential debate on Tuesday, he received a totally unexpected reply.

On his personal personal Twitter account (@realDonaldTrump) Trump asked: "Who is winning the debate so far (just last name)?"

One of those who answered his question was Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling (@gehrig38) who made a one-word reply: "ISIS."

Schilling was suspended from his job earlier as broadcaster for ESPN's Little League World Series after making a controversial tweet about radical Islam. But it seemed he could not resist making another controversial comment when he read Trump's Twitter post.

Daniel Roberts of Fortune magazine then tweeted Schilling: "Curt. Stop tweeting. You're making all the Red Sox fans who once loved you so sad."

Schilling did not tweet back after his "ISIS" remark, but he did apologize back in August when he compared the rise of radical Islam to the rise of the Nazis during World War II. In his post, Schilling posted a photo of Hitler and beside him were some data: "It's said only five to 10 percent of Muslims are extremists. In 1940, only seven percent of Germans were Nazis. How'd that go?"

Schilling sounded pretty remorseful when he tweeted on Aug. 25, "I understand and accept my suspension. 100% my fault. Bad choices have bad consequences and this was a bad decision in every way on my part."

A lot of people joked that CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper was the actual winner in the Democratic debate, while many others said it was Trump, even though both individuals were not really a part of the debate.

Some of the viewers thought Bernie Sanders did a great job although it was later acknowledged that frontrunner Hillary Clinton won the debate hands down.
