'Diablo 3: Necromancer' news: Reimagined Necromancer class available in closed beta, found consistent with its roots

When action role-playing video game "Diablo 3" was released, the game included new classes that were not in the previous games. Even though there is a Witch Doctor class, which has been identified as something similar to the Necromancer class, developer Blizzard Entertainment announced at last year's BlizzCon that they were going to reintroduce the Necromancer class from "Diablo 2" to "Diablo 3."

According to the description posted on Blizzard's website, the Necromancers are "powerful spell casters who lay waste to their enemies using curses and reanimation" and that they employ a "controlled gameplay style using the raw materials of life: blood and bone."

Just recently, Blizzard finally made it happen. The Necromancer class has landed, together with the 2.6.0 patch. However, it is only available in closed beta for now, which means only users who have received an invite can have access to the new character pack.

According to GameSpot, those who are selected for the closed beta will see the new feature show up in their Blizzard Account Management page. Before users can start playing, they must select "Necromancer Beta Test" from the drop-down menu and install it. Also, the publication stated that users can copy over characters from their regular "Diablo 3" account and take these to the Necromancer beta test.

Paul Tassi, a contributor for Forbes, was able to test the "Diablo 3: Necromancer" beta. According to him, the class has a new "corpse" mechanic.

When a player kills an enemy, a generic corpse will appear over the dead body, which can be used for various functions. These include skills such as using corpses to bind enemies with chains, ability to heal or regain essence by consuming dead bodies, and resurrecting corpses as undead warriors. Tassi also noted that the latest class adheres to its roots in the previous game.
