'Devil May Cry 5' release date rumor: New installment already in the works and will be released soon?

Speculations on the continuation of the story of the "Devil May Cry" series stopped late last year when publisher Capcom said that they have no plans of releasing another sequel. However, the rumors have started once again as it is suggested that a "Devil May Cry 5" is already in the works and will be released soon.

According to GameRanx, the upcoming "Devil May Cry" series installment is already in the advanced stages of development, if a recent post from sources close to the project can be believed. Reportedly, a Facebook post (already deleted) shows Johnny Yong Bosch together with Reuben Langdon in motion capture suits.

While it was not stated what project the two were working on, it is believed that they were together for another "Devil May Cry" title, since Bosch played Nero in "Devil May Cry 4," while Langdon is behind main protagonist Dante in "Devil May Cry 3" and "Devil May Cry 4."

Meanwhile, the new rumor joins a number of other speculations that point to a possible "Devil May Cry 5." The rumors started last year, when hardcore fans of the franchise spotted a teaser detail in the end credits of "Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition." Reportedly, the ending credits hint at a possible sequel with the words, "Congratulations! Thank you for playing! See you next Devil May Cry!!"

The series has been one of Capcom's long-running franchises, as the original "Devil May Cry" was released way back in 2001. It was followed by three sequels in 2003, 2005, and 2008. Last year, Capcom re-released the original as the "DMC: Devil May Cry" reboot and an exclusive "Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition."

Interestingly, the "Devil May Cry" franchise started only as part of another long-running Capcom franchise, "Resident Evil." The original "Devil May Cry" title was greenlighted first as an early stage material for "Resident Evil 4."
