Hideo Kojima, famous for his work on the "Metal Gear" video games and "Zone of the Enders," had a recent falling out with Konami and started his own studio. The game creator and director finally showcased his new game, "Death Stranding," during this year's E3 and Kojima has gone on the record that this will be his best game thus far.
"So far, when I've been making games, I've had to give up on something or at least compromise on something in order to get things done," Kojima explained to Digital Spy, hinting at the environment he had with Konami. "But this time, working with you [Mark Cerny] and you bringing the state of the art technologies, we will get around that usual problem."
Cenry is known as the system architect for the PlayStation 4 and was one of the key individuals responsible for forging the allegiance between Sony and Kojima's company, Kojima Productions. It is speculated Cenry had been working very closely with Kojima to ensure the visionary director can create the game he wants, exactly the way he wants.
Kojima continues to explain he feels confident that they are working on a kind of game that no one has seen before. He states that he is confident this will be the best game he's ever made, which is a very bold statement considering just how highly acclaimed some of his former projects are, such as "Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater" and "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain."
"Death Stranding" will star Norman Reedus and there are indications that it will be a science fiction-action game. The teaser trailer and poster showcased during E3 give very little information, focusing on a naked Reedus clutching an infant while at a beach littered with corpses of fish, whales and other sea life.
No official release date for "Death Stranding" has been announced thus far.
