Darlene Zschech re-dedicates herself to God after being given the cancer all-clear

Darlene Zschech is praising God like never before after her doctors told her she is clear of cancer.

The worship leader underwent rigorous treatment after being diagnosed with breast cancer last December.

She wrote previously on her blog about her experience of chemo and radio therapy, and how she had needed Jesus to walk into the treatment room the first time and not run away.

She described feeling "terrified" on the first day of her treatment but was consoled by her morning devotional which looked at how God covers his people in righteousness from head to toe.

"I cannot even begin to tell you how much this meant to me and gave me the confidence I needed to walk through the treatment doors on that first day and to keep turning up," she said.

The good news of her recovery came just before Thanksgiving and made the holidays all the more sweet for the "Shout to the Lord" singer.

"We have wept, danced, hugged our arms out, and have literally just said thank you to Jesus as many times as one can," she wrote on her blog.

Zschech, who has sung on many of Hillsong's albums, thanked her supporters for their "relentless prayers" and said she was "one very grateful woman" following the all clear.

"Life will never be the same, I believe it will be so much better," she said.  "Even though I will have checkups every four months, and will be on medication for ten years, I feel I have been given an official 'second half'.. one which is dedicated to the things of God like never before."

She celebrated the good news at a Thanksgiving service at her church where she was leading the praise.

During her treatment, she much of her music ministry and touring was on pause, but she has still found the strength to work on the release of a new Christmas single, "O Holy Night", and a new compilation entitled "In Jesus' Name: A Legacy of Worship and Faith" slated for release in early 2015.

After a year of struggle, Zschech is in a well-deserved happy season and confirmation of her renewed health comes just weeks after her middle daughter Chloe got engaged.

She concluded her blog with: "Let the future begin."
