A much needed help is coming for the Dallas Cowboys as franchise quarterback Tony Romo returned to practice Thursday and is likely to be starting when they take on the Miami Dolphins this Sunday.
The Cowboys have missed Romo since Week 2 when he suffered a collarbone injury in a win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Since then, Dallas has been in a deep hole and lost its past seven games, changing its starting quarterback twice with Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel.
But now that Romo is set to return, the Cowboys are looking to salvage the season and make it to the postseason.
Currently, the Cowboys are sitting last in the National Football Conference (NFC) East with a 2–7 record but despite that, the returning Romo is having a positive but tough view of their situation.
In a report by ESPN, Romo said it is tough being unable to help his teammates but their commitment each game despite not winning gives them a chance to still accomplish their goals, but there is only a "very little room for error."
Romo also told reporters Wednesday, according to NFL.com, "I think the guys understand where we're at. I think they also understand that the season is not over. It's far from it."
"I think right now we just need to understand that we're getting started, and we've got to go do our job and do it to the best of our ability and start getting this thing on the roll," he added.
Following their game against the Dolphins, the Cowboys still have six games in their regular season schedule and will try to win majority of those outings to strengthen their playoff campaign.
But it will not be an easy task because after Sunday's matchup with Miami, Dallas will be taking on the currently undefeated Carolina Panthers in Week 12.
