Dallas Cowboys NFL 2015 roster news: Darren McFadden gets starting nod for Sunday's game versus Seahawks

Running back Darren McFadden's performance in Week 7's 27-20 loss to the New York Giants convinced the Dallas Cowboys that he is worthy to start when they play against the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday.

McFadden led the Cowboys in rushing against the Giants having 29 carries for 152 yards and one touchdown.

This 2015 season, the 28-year-old has 66 carries for 281 yards and two touchdowns in six games played.

McFadden will be replacing Dallas' original starter this season in running back Joesph Randle who has an oblique strain according to ESPN.

Yahoo Sports also reported that Randle, due to personal reasons, just left the Cowboys training facility Wednesday after learning that he lost the starting job and this caused the team's staff to be disappointed at the 23-year-old.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, this was not the first off-field issue Randle faced in his three-year stint with the team.

Now McFadden needs to step up for Dallas and head coach Jason Garrett's confidence in him is sky high following Sunday's defeat.

In ESPN's report, Garrett praised McFadden's performance against the Giants and believes the former Arkansas Razorback took advantage of the opportunity given to him.

"I think his impact on the running game was significant. Obviously we blocked them as well, and there were a lot of opportunities for him, but if you watch him at the end of runs, the end of the inside runs, the end of the runs off tackle, at the end of the runs out in space, I think you see what he's all about," Garrett explained.

The Cowboys' offense has struggled this season due to injuries to franchise quarterback Tony Romo and star wide receiver Dez Bryant.

Since Romo was sidelined following his Week 2 collarbone injury, Dallas has been on a downhill slope losing its last four games to the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, and most recently the Giants.

That is why promoting McFadden to the starting role is a huge roster decision for a struggling team like the Cowboys.

Since Randle's status is still uncertain after he left, backing up McFadden at the running back position will be Lance Dunbar and Christine Michael.
