'Criminal Minds' season 11 spoilers: Hotch and team to follow a group of criminals

 CBS Official

"Criminal Minds" season 11 premiere date is fast approaching and spoilers from the much loved crime drama series keep coming.

Showrunner Erica Messer recently revealed that fans will be seeing a "serialized" "Criminal Minds" and it is the first time after 11 years that the show will be offering such version, as reported exclusively by TV Line.

Furthermore, Messer went to say that the premiere episode will have Hotch (Thomas Gibson) and the team investigate a group of criminals known as "The Dirty Dozen."

Deciphering the minds of this network of criminals won't stop at the end of episode 1, but rather the whole team and the entire season will be following them, with the plot unveiling towards the finale.

TV Line also provided a bonus spoiler stating that Rossi's (Joe Mantegna) daughter, Joy (Amber Stevens) will also be back and she'll appear in episode 7.

"We would love to have her on a couple times a year," Messer said, hinting that the production wants to feature more of Joy.

This could mean that Rossi's past and everything in between that led to Joy could be featured in the series.

Meanwhile, it was already confirmed that Kate (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is out of the show and fans won't be seeing JJ (A.J. Cook) as well since she's on maternity leave.

Aisha Tyler steps in to fill in the hole left by those ladies and she'll be playing the smart forensic psychologist, Dr. Tara Lewis.

Messer described Tyler to be a smart person and having her play the role of a forensic psychologist comes very naturally to her.

Tyler's character is also reported to be romantically linked with uber genius Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler). However, this remains a fan speculation only.

"Criminal Minds" season 11 will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 9 p.m. EST or 8 p.m. CST on CBS.
