'Criminal Minds' season 11 spoilers: BAU hunts for unsub disguised as an FBI Agent in episode 15

Marisol Nichols in season 11 episode 2 titled "The Witness" CBS Official

There will be no "Criminal Minds" episode airing this week, but when the show returns next Wednesday, there will be some familiar faces to watch out for.

The next episode, titled "A Badge and a Gun," will see the return of Marisol Nichols, who has played Agent Natalie Colfax in the hit CBS series. The Los Angeles-based agent will once again assist the Behavioral Analysis Unit in solving the case of a killer who's disguised as someone people easily trust.

As stated in the synopsis found in Spoilers Guide, the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) will head to Los Angeles after discovering "security footage that shows an UnSub being invited into victims' homes."

In the episode preview found in the same news outlet, JJ (A.J. Cook) is seen relaying the team's analysis about the unsub. It is revealed that the unsub's modus operandi is to get inside the homes of his victims without sparking suspicion. The only way he can do this is if the victims trust him.

Hotch then discovers, after analyzing security footage, that the suspect is showing his credentials to the victims, making them trust him all the more. Further, it is revealed that the unsub, played by a familiar face — "CSI: NY's" Carmine Giovinazzo — is posing as an FBI Agent all along in order to get the trust of the victim.

Giovinazzo is known for his role as Detective Danny Messer in "CSI:NY," but it seems he's the bad guy in the upcoming episode of "Criminal Minds," wherein he plays the role of a former janitor named Andrew Meeks, according to CarterMatt.

Apart from the aforementioned synopsis, not much has been revealed about the episode. Being a former janitor, could it be that Andrew was a disgruntled employee who went through a devastating episode in his life that triggered his need to kill?

Find out when "A Badge and a Gun" airs next Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
