Church smashes world record for largest ever gospel choir

The world record for the largest gospel choir has been smashed by a church in the Philippines.

Church of God International in Manila formed a chorus of 8,688 singers and reduced the Guinness World Records adjudicator to tears during the 15-minute performance.

The Araneta Coliseum was packed by the record-breaking ensemble which shattered the previous record of 4,745 people.

The choir sung "Stand Up," "Praise the Name," Hallelujah, Amen" and "Enrich the Spirit". All of the songs are original compositions of choir leaders, Norman Caraballo Rueda.
