Defending English Premier League champions Chelsea are not in the best form this season in all competitions but despite that, club owner Roman Abramovich still trusts current manager Jose Mourinho.

BBC Sport reported the news, with Abramovich already expressing his faith in Mourinho back in October despite all the struggles the club is facing this season.

According to the report, Mourinho's job as manager is not in danger unlike the rumors that he will be sacked because of the Blues' poor performance.

Chelsea lost in their last Premier League match against Stoke City 1–0 and are currently 16th in the table only having 11 points in 12 games played already (3–2–7).

Along with Chelsea's on-field setbacks, Mourinho is also facing off-field issues like the penalties he received from the Football Association (FA) following his behavior and comments in their recent matches.

In a report by The Sun, Mourinho said he knows when is the time to go but it is not now, as he asked Abramovich to give him time to fix the club by starting with the roster and eliminating players who are underperforming.

"He wants to get to the January transfer window to remove the players he considers to be bad apples in the squad and get the club moving in the right direction again," a source close to the club manager told The Sun.

If Abramovich and Chelsea will not have a change of heart, Mourinho will have the chance to do his plans of fixing the club starting with the roster, since he just inked an extension deal back in August that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2019.

Up next for the Blues is a matchup against Norwich City who are also sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table with 12 points, as both clubs try to improve their record on Nov. 21.
