'Captain America 3' plot rumors: A journalist returns, the Cap to become 'worthy' of Thor's hammer?

Just when fans thought that the cast of "Captain America: Civil War" couldn't get any bigger, the return of another familiar face hits the news. Actress Leslie Bibb herself confirmed via Instagram that her character from the first two "Iron Man" movies will appear in the film.

Fans will remember Bibb as Vanity Fair reporter Christine Everhart, an investigative journalist who called Tony Stark the "merchant of death" the first day and slept with him the next. Her appearance is not a surprise, though, as her favorite interviewee Iron Man will be in the headlines of newspapers after a global destructive event puts him and his fellow superheroes in bad light.

While the cast gets bigger and more stellar by the minute, the spotlight pans back to Captain America (Chris Evans) who is rumored to do something he wasn't successful in doing in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," which is to wield Thor's ever powerful hammer.

According to a Superherohype Forum member who admitted to have been snooping around on the set of "Captain America: Civil War," Evans performed a stunt with "a CGI stand-in prop that was shaped like a double sided hammer."

While in the latest "Avengers" movie, the soldier couldn't lift the enchanted weapon after considerable effort, the character in the comics was successful in wielding the war-hammer, eventually defeating the Egyptian God of Death.

So it turns out Captain America is worthy of Thor's hammer after all and he might prove that in "Captain America: Civil War." Unfortunately, however exciting this may be, it is best to take it with a grain of salt.

"Captain America: Civil War," which stages a supercharged warfare between friends turned foes, will hit theaters on May 6 next year.
