'Call of Duty' movie adaptations planned, creators to take their time

Duty calls not only in the digital battlefield but also in Hollywood, as the publishers of the "Call of Duty" franchise talk about bringing it to the big screen.

It seems that multiple "Call of Duty" movies are also being made at the behest of Activision Blizzard Studios, who owns the license for the franchise. Not much has been revealed about the said upcoming war movies, but the studio has spoken up about the direction the adaptations are going to take.

Tim Kilpin, head of Activision's consumer products group has stated that the movies are primarily being developed to expand the player base of the games. With the upcoming films targeted at an adult audience, they hope that the games' sales and engagements will further increase despite it being an M-rated first-person shooter (FPS).

As such, the studios are being meticulous about the quality of their upcoming "Call of Duty" movies since a lot of things can easily go wrong during production or marketing, and mistakes may end up having an adverse effect on the game.

This much was revealed by Kilpin when he said, "Anytime you take a franchise as storied as this, with this kind of legacy, and expand it into a new form factor you have to be really careful. It's not one of those situations where someone is saying, 'I don't care just get it made!'; that's not what's happening,"

Apparently, the studios are taking their time with the script and the story in order to get them just right. Fans may also have to wait indefinitely until the movies are ready to be premiered since the executives of Activision do not want to rush the movies' production just for the sake of getting it made.

So far, no other details have been revealed by Activision regarding the "Call of Duty" movies, but rest assured, they will be premiering at some point in the future.
