'Call of Duty Black Ops 3' release date, game play details revealed in latest leak

 Call of Duty's official website

Details about the third installment in the "Black Ops" game series may have leaked ahead of an official announcement. Marketing materials that highlight new features in "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" were initially posted on Reddit and picked up by game site CharlieIntel

The "CoD" franchise is well-known for coming out with intriguing and action-packed storylines, and the latest title is expected to not disappoint. Even if the plot has yet to be announced, playing in campaign mode will reportedly offer a new co-op play mode, with up to four players online helping each other finish the latest story. Developer Treyarch will also introduce cinematic style gameplay, where gamers can duke it out in backdrops that are familiar in the "Call of Duty" world, and also open arenas for co-op modes that would test each group's teamwork and strategy.

Perhaps the biggest news to come out concerning the latest title is that this will be the very first time that the franchise will introduce character progression. Players will be able to fully customize their choice of load outs, including weapons, armor, and outfits. Abilities will also be fully customized, and "Black Ops 3" will also introduce a personal armory where players can post their accomplishments.

For the multiplayer game mode, there will be an additional specialist character system reminiscent of the latest "Battlefield: Hardline" title. Players will be able level up and master their character's innate abilities and weapons. Aside from levelling up specialties, gamers can also gain experience points via the traditional game by game successes and weapons XP.

The upcoming title will also have its own Zombie mode, complete with a separate storyline and character progression.

No details have been officially announced regarding the launch date for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3," but observers place the release of the title at the latter part of the year.
