'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' DLC release date: 'The Descent' coming to PC and XBox One on Aug. 11

Call of Duty Black Ops III Activision

"Call of Duty: Black Ops III" released its third DLC, titled "The Descent," back in July but this was solely for the PlayStation 4. Due to the exclusivity, Xbox One and PC consumers would have to wait a full 30 days before it could even be released for their respective platforms. A report from Ecumenical Times now confirms Xbox One and PC players will be getting it this Aug. 11.

The DLC will be introducing four new multiplayer maps to the game. The first new map is titled Berserk the players will have to go through the ruins of an ancient Viking settlement while dealing with the harsh blizzards and other terrain obstacles.

Cryogen is the second new map and this will bring players into a high-tech compound which is also home to some of the most notorious criminal minds. Empire, on the other hand, is the third map and will be based on the Raid map seen back in "Call of Duty: Black Ops II."

The last of the four new maps is called Rumble. Unlike the other three, this new map features large destructive robots going against each other.

"The Descent" also includes the latest chapter in the game's Zombie mode. It will come with mechanized soldiers, a dragon and even larger hordes of zombies. This Zombie Mode won't be the end of the tale, however, as a report from Express reveals that the fourth and final DLC for the game will feature one more Zombie mode story.

"I believe that the ending of DLC 4 will spark emotion in the players, which is my goal," explained Treyarch's Jason Blundell. "It's not out of the desire for trolling, as people say. No, what I want to do is have you have complex and differing thoughts on what you've experienced and what your view is."

Microsoft and Xbox have also released a follow-up trailer for "The Descent" for PC and Xbox One.
