The Brooklyn Nets are not having the best of starts this 2015–16 National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season, but they captured their fourth win last Sunday defeating the Detroit Pistons at home, 87–83.

Brooklyn's victory also snapped the team's back-to-back losses suffered against the Oklahoma City Thunder (110–99) and the Cleveland Cavaliers (90–88).

Emerging in Sunday's triumph over Detroit was forward Thaddeus Young who had a double-double 19 points and 10 rebounds that came along with three assists, one steal, and one block.

Franchise center Brook Lopez also had a big game for the Nets, tallying 15 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four steals, and six rejections.

In a report by the Associated Press, Lopez spoke about the team not giving up against the Pistons.

"We definitely had to grind it out. We stuck with it, though, and our bench definitely gave us good minutes," Lopez said, according to the report.

He added, "Our guys stuck it out, we kept fighting and things weren't going our way the majority of the game, but we kept with it."

Along with Young and Lopez, starting veterans forward Joe Johnson and point guard Jarrett Jack also played well for Brooklyn.

Johnson had 13 points, five rebounds, and one assist, while Jack contributed 11 points, five rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Meanwhile, the bench was led by guard Wayne Ellington who dropped 12 points, six rebounds, and one block.

Also in the report by the Associated Press, Nets head coach Lionel Hollins spoke about winning against the Pistons despite playing inconsistently, while they still lost when they competed well against the Cavs.

The Nets improved to 4–13 following the win but are still second to the last in the Eastern Conference standings, just above the 0–18 Philadelphia 76ers.

Up next for Brooklyn will be another home stand taking on the Phoenix Suns today, Tuesday, at the Barclays Center.
