'Borderlands' characters: two new characters cross over to 'Dance Central Spotlight'

"Dance Central Spotlight," an Xbox One-exclusive from game developer and publisher Harmonix, has two new additional playable characters in its roster – Nisha the Lawbringer and Claptrap. If these characters sound familiar, that is because they hail from the "Borderlands" universe, developed by Gearbox. Both characters can be seen in "Borderlands 2" and appear as playable ones in "Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel."

In a collaboration between the two game studios, "Dance Central Spotlight" players can now unlock Nisha and Claptrap by entering XXXXX or YYYYY on the character select screen.

This crossover between the two developers is not new. In the development of "Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel," the trailer for the "moon dance break" is one Harmonix helped create, said a Twitter post from Borderlands' account. At the same time, Harmonix publicist Nock Chester and Gearbox creative director Mikey Neumann kept in touch with each other for the development of the character crossover, especially on Claptraps' dance moves. Claptrap is a bad tempered robot from the "Borderlands" universe with wheels instead of legs. Accordingly, Claptrap will have his own style of robot dancing.

"Dance Central Spotlight" is a $9.99 Xbox One-exclusive that focuses on refined moves instead of just dancing to the beat. Unlike other dancing games with story lines and mini games, this title instead makes repetition a must; practicing over and over again to master the game's moves. Since it is a movement-based rhythm game, it has its own fitness mode that sets the game's tone, difficulty, and song choices based on the player's weight and height. It is also possible to expand the game's tracklist by downloading additional songs.

"Borderlands," meanwhile, is an action role-playing first person shooter set on the planet Pandora, and in the original game, players can choose from among four characters.

"Dance Central Spotlight" was launched last September, while "Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel" debuted in October.
